 Challenges the world over

Alistair, Master Mariner: "Who knows where I’ll be tomorrow?"

"Since joining Brookes Bell I’ve attended the British Columbia Supreme Court to get a court order access onto a ship in Vancouver, spent a week in the Dominican Republic investigating an unsafe port claim, three weeks during summer in Ibiza supervising a team of Spanish divers, four days in Antigua investigating an oil spill, two days in Philadelphia surveying a gas carrier, three days in Sicily investigating a bulkhead collapse on a chemical tanker, and five days in the Emirates evaluating the condition of the cargo on a ship just released from pirate capture. These are just some of my fun jobs, with each one being different and challenging in its own way."

Chris, Engineer: "Life at Brookes Bell is challenging and diverse."

"I’ve investigated many casualties, globally. One of my earlier assignments was to determine the cause of a main engine failure on a cargo ship. Relatively routine I thought, until the cargo of explosives and location of the vessel became apparent. I also dealt with explosive charges during a major wreck removal, an innovative way of disassembling a large slow speed engine! From salvage to wreck removal, from engine failure to collisions, from Nigeria to Bootle, life at Brookes Bell is challenging and diverse."
