A career with Brookes Bell is fascinating and lucrative. It requires that you access all your expertise in order to determine the nature, cause and extent of damage in often complex and mystifying maritime incidents that can occur anywhere in the world. Travel, sometimes to far-flung places and often at short notice, is an integral part of the job.

Joining us means being part of a traditional partnership, sharing professional responsibilities with our other disciplines all of whom provide expert individual or team-based consultancy to the shipping, insurance and legal industries.

Assignments are often undertaken from initial survey up to attendance in Court or Arbitration. You will be expected to produce concise, clear, accurate and objective reports. Training will be given, and initially you will be working closely with partners on less complex cases. You will be expected to learn and implement your growing skills and experience on more challenging cases as your career progresses. In addition to using physical evidence you have obtained during an investigation, you will be required on occasion to provide technical opinions and construct a report from documentary evidence.

A position in Brookes Bell has many advantages. We expect all of our recruits to work towards associate status and eventually partnership, and we do our utmost to help them achieve this goal. You will work with the firm’s partners on a daily basis and get to know them personally. Ultimately it is up to you to succeed.

If you want to pursue a satisfying, varied and involved shore-based future, along with other full-time experts who work exclusively for Brookes Bell, this is your opportunity.
